Differential form - A differential form is a mathematical concept in the fields of multivariate calculus, differential topology and tensors. The modern notation for the differential form, as well as the idea of the differential forms as being the wedge products of exterior derivatives forming an exterior algebra, was introduced by Elie Cartan.
Impossible differential cryptanalysis - In cryptography, impossible differential cryptanalysis is a form of differential cryptanalysis for block ciphers. While ordinary differential cryptanalysis tracks differences that propagate through the cipher with greater than expected probability, impossible differential cryptanalysis exploits differences that are impossible at various intermediate states of the algorithm.
Locking differential - A locking differential or locker is a variation on the standard automotive differential. A locking differential provides increased traction compared to a standard, or "open" differential by disallowing wheel speed differentiation between two wheels on the same axle under certain conditions.
Pseudo-differential operator - In mathematical analysis a pseudo-differential operator is an extension of the concept of differential operator. Pseudo-differential operators are used extensively in the theory of partial differential equations and quantum field theory.
TAPENADE On-line Automatic Differentiation Engine - Given a Fortran source program, the name of the top routine to be differentiated, the dependent output variables whose derivatives are required, the independent input variables with respect to which it must differentiate, this tool returns the forward (tangent) or reverse (adjoint)differentiated program.
Differential Equations and Oscillations - Many problems in physics are described by differential equations. As a complete discussion of differential equations is beyond the scope of this chapter we will deal only with linear first and second order ordinary differential equations.
Difference Method for Numerical Approximation to Applied Differential Equations. - This page explains how to use the difference formula of differentials to approximate the differential equations for applied systems. This method is used when analytical techniques are unavailable or cause computers to spit out garbage. This difference ...
